"Downloading Starcraft 2. Hope the wait was worth it!"
So the third season is over and I just don’t know what to make of this show anymore. As we all know season 1 rocked, and as we all know season 2 sucked. Season 3 however was a different beast. It had a big hole to climb out of in trying to recapture the fans they lost during the writers’ strike, and they had to impress the suits over at NBC to make sure they could return for a fourth season. So how did it all pan out? Let’s investigate.
Seven years and 76 episodes later, it has come to an end. A friend of mine actually said that I should be put on suicide watch due to the withdrawals I’ll be going through in the next few weeks. I’ve been thinking about the finale and the series as a whole since the finale aired, and I couldn’t come up with a solid opinion about how I felt with the ending. This is my attempt at putting my thoughts together on what has been my favorite TV show for the past 7 years into words.
Battlestar Galactica, or Balactica as some in my inner circle call it, is coming to a close tonight. I thought that in honor of this event I would gather some useful links for you to explore and to get ready for tonight’s event.
On Tuesday, March 17th 2009, Ron Moore, the creator of the show and part of the lead cast participated in a talk at the United Nations during the Creative Community Outreach Initiative. The initiative was started last year by Secretary General Ban Ki-moon as part of an effort to get the organization’s message out to more people. During this meeting, officials and cast alike watched clips from the acclaimed show and discussed moral relativism.
Battlestar Galactica is finally coming to a close after many years. It is a sad time for everyone. The series finale promises to blow everyone away with mind bending answers and perhaps even questions. I, for one, am hoping that Ron Moore didn’t forget to answer some of the most basic things that the show has asked or presented us with during its course. So here it is, a round up of the things that are still in need of answers.
Back in 1999, Richard Hatch (now AKA Tom Zarek) had a whole vision of his own when it came to the re-imagining of the classic show. I’ve been completely obsessed a fan of this show since the mini-series, and was absolutely shocked when I found this gem over at io9. Richard Hatch not only was coming back as the famous Apollo, he in fact co-wrote and co-directed the short, and called it Battlestar Galactica: The Second Coming.
