Use SweetFM To Download LastFM Tracks For Free

SweetFM has recently become an open source project, and it is free for your taking. It’s not going out with out a bang, however, because you can now export every song you listen to on LastFM directly to iTunes… for free.

I’m not entirely sure how they’re doing this. Basically, the new update allows you to export loved tracks, certain playlists, or simply every song you listen to directly to your iTunes library. The app wasn’t always free, but it is now, it it is only available for Mac OS X. Sorry PC users!

The way I’ve got my setup going is I’m having it download my “loved” tracks. Any track I mark as loved through SweetFM will be automatically downloaded to my iTunes once the song ends playing. Presumably after it’s recorded the stream. My question is whether LastFM has the ability to block the application.

You can get the application from Choco Moko here.

That’s totally awesome. I wonder how long it will last (heh) or if last.fm will find a way to block it.
