According to their sources from ILM the show will be shot in Australia and is said to be “of the highest quality.” I hope this means not only in the look of the series, but also of the content.

Sci-Fi has a short article confirming the rumors:

The quality and style of writing that will be used will be of the highest quality, and local writers will be sourced from outside traditional Science Fiction shows. Several big names within the Australian industry (including writers from the Award-winning Love My Way and the Award-winning Secret Life of Us) have been approached by Star Wars uber-producer, Rick McCallum.

Supposedly, unlike the cartoon series, this is meant to target older audiences, which is a welcome change of pace. I’ve always thought that the Star Wars universe has been twisted into something too Disney-like. Putting an mature, darker feel to the Star Wars universe can’t go wrong.
