The new iPhone and its operating system are out in the wild and there’s plenty of new features to merit an upgrade, especially if you’re like me and coming from an original iPhone. Lot’s of its features have been analyzed and scrutinized to no end, however, there’s a few things that have flown under the radar.
The new iPhone and its operating system are out in the wild and there’s plenty of new features to merit an upgrade, especially if you’re like me and coming from an original iPhone. Lot’s of its features have been analyzed and scrutinized to no end, however, there’s a few things that have flown under the radar.
One of the things that I’ve noticed is that the iPhone’s Spotlight feature is now, just like its computer counterpart, an application launcher. If you’ve got more Apps than you can manage, simply swipe once to the right, type in the first 2 or 3 letters of your App, and tap to launch.
Another interesting feature is the bump in home screens. You can now have 11 screens worth of Apps… and more! If you’ve filled all of your screens with Apps, and you simply can’t fit any more, don’t worry just keep on installing them. The iPhone can actually handle many more, and even though you won’t see them you can launch them with Spotlight.
Video editing also has a nifty little hidden feature. If you record a clip and want to edit it, you can scrub from the left or the right to trim your clip. However, if you start scrubbing and hold your finger still, the video timeline will expand to show you the footage in more detail, almost frame by frame. Kind of like extending or reducing the amount of video thumbnails show you in iMovie.
Do you know of any more??
