First and foremost the new iPhone. The body remains the same, but its insides are completely revamped. I’m a little disappointed with the fact that it’s still a low megapixel camera, and that the body is the same (I don’t like it’s current form). However, the fast processor, bigger capacities, the 3.0 software, and everything else they’ve added means I’m for sure upgrading. I still have the first gen phone. I avoided getting the 3G precisely for this purpose. I can now say that I’ve used the 1st gen phone to its capacity and I’m ready for the next one.
Apple’s line of MacBooks was also updated, and the updates couldn’t have been better. Making the entire line of Notebooks the MacBook Pro line and slashing prices the way they did should give PCs a run for their money. A 15″ MacBook Pro for $1699? Can’t beat that. The addition of the FW800 on the 13″ is also amazing. Makes me wanna upgrade NOW!
Another cool enhancement was to Apple’s MobileMe service. Running the iPhone 3.0 software, you can now “Find My iPhone” from the MobileMe website. Using GPS it will literally map the phone on the website for you, and you can then send a message to the phone. The phone will sound an alarm regardless if it’s in silent mode or not.
