Boxee, the amazing video streaming software, has released a new version of its software. It now includes full integration with your Netflix account. This is amazing, however, this new update has broken Boxee’s ability to open on a secondary screen, so if this is your setup you may want to wait. There’s a work-around by making your TV the primary screen and then launching Boxee, but it may get annoying after a while. I’m hoping for a quick update.
The new version (0.9.5) has some redesigned interfaces however, including Hulu which has a much more intuitive interface.
If you have been fortunate enough to get a Boxee invite and have a Netflix account, you’ve gotta try this. I looked around in the previous version of Boxee and you can’t just run an update. You have to log in to boxee.tv on your browser, download it again, and install it. If you’re running Boxee on your Apple TV it is, unfortunately, not yet possible to run Netflix on it… something having to do with the Apple TV not having enough horsepower.
Have fun!
PS: If you’re running a Mac you’ll have to install Microsoft Silverlight in order to stream the Netflix videos.
