With the explosion of the App Store and the things that people are making I can’t help but think that Apple is lazy. I mean, c’mon! Apple created the SDK developers are using! It’s like playing the game on your home court where you have the advantage and still losing.
First and foremost, voice dial is an obvious feature. With Apple’s own state, California, having passed a law that requires all drivers to have a hands-free phone I don’t understand why they wouldn’t implement something as popular as voice dial. Say Who is a free App that does exactly this. You say a name in your contact list, it finds it incredibly well, and auto dials it for you.
Secondly, iDisk connection. This is another obvious feature that should have been implemented with the release of the 2.0 software. There’s a free App called MobileFiles which is amazing, it lets you connect to any number of iDisks you may have, and any number of other people’s public iDisk folders.
Third, MMS. This was a feature requested since the release of the iPhone itself and still there’s no MMS. I can snap a photo and email it, but unless you have a Blackberry or an iPhone you won’t be able to see it. There are a few Apps out there that will do MMS, though I haven’t really played with them much.
Fourth, video recording. I looked around but there really isn’t any way to do this without a jailbroken phone, which makes me think that Apple is aware of the demand for this. I’m guessing they’re waiting to release an updated version of their iPhone photo software until they release a new iPhone with a (please) much better camera.
Fifth, yeah you guessed it, cut/copy. Nuff said.

Well said Freddie. Many of those things should have been implemented by now but I guess we must wait. Check out the post I just did over at CreativesNook about Dreamweaver CS4. Just got it and loving every minute of it.
